Translation

I bow to Vishnu — of peaceful form, resting on the serpent Shesha, from whose navel springs the lotus, lord of the gods; the support of the universe, vast as the sky, dark as a cloud, of auspicious limbs; the beloved of Lakshmi, lotus-eyed, attainable by yogis in meditation; the remover of the fears of worldly existence, the one lord of all the worlds.

A serene meditation-verse (dhyana shloka) picturing Vishnu at rest, radiating peace. Often recited at the close of worship.

Benefits

Instills deep calm, dissolves worldly fear and anxiety, and prepares the mind for rest or meditation.
